Report: Tottenham keen on future world star

Even at his tender age he looks like a brilliant buy for Tottenham

There has been talk that Tottenham will make a January bid for Real Madrid’s unsettled left-back Fabio Coentrao.

He’s an accomplished player and a brilliant attacking full-back who has perhaps been undervalued by the Spanish club. If a replacement can be found you sense that Real Madrid would let him go without too much fuss.

The Independent has reported that Tottenham have got a fall-back option, if the Coentrao deal doesn’t come off, or another club snaps him up first.

The name of Luke Shaw seems to have been passed around the England’s elite clubs like a badly rolled joint, over the last couple of years, as the list of casual suitors grows ever longer.

But The Independent reckons that Tottenham might try to bring in Shaw if they can’t sign the Portuguese.

However, as was proved over the summer, taking the 25-year-old away from Real Madrid is fraught with problems which has led to the interest in Shaw.

Southampton would be unlikely to listen to offers of anything below £10m for Shaw, who has performed well in the club’s excellent opening to the campaign, which has taken them to third after 11 matches.

Even at his tender age Shaw looks like a brilliant footballer and he’s doing himself proud in the Southampton first team right now. If he carries on improving at this rate it can only be a matter of time before a huge bid is made.

Of course Tottenham signed a brilliant left back from Southampton once before and we all know how that one turned out.

Let’s see Shaw in action. Tottenham fans would you like to see Luke Shaw at the club or is he a little bit too young to go straight into the first team at this point?
