The Tottenham boss, Andre Villas-Boas, is having a few problems knitting together a team with so many new faces.
Whilst the club is sitting in a decent position in The Premier League Tottenham aren’t scoring enough goals and questions are being asked about whether they will glue together whilst there is still time to win titles this season.
Each of the new players that Tottenham have brought into the club have sporadically flickered brightly, as individuals, but they are struggling as a team.
Nevertheless, rumours are rife that Tottenham will bring more players in in January, in order to try and stay abreast with the traditional ‘big boys’ of The Premier League. While Manchester United recover, Liverpool and Arsenal surge, Tottenham have waned of late.
Perhaps they will try to add more creativity in the winter window. The Daily Mail today reveals that one of their reported targets, Santos winger Neilton, has been the subject of a bid from Sevilla. The Mail says:
Santos may consider taking a 10 per cent sell-on clause as payment for young winger Neilton who is wanted by Tottenham.
Sevilla have offered £600,000 for the 19-year-old who is out of contract in the summer but Santos believe a sell-on may prove better business if Tottenham agree.
He looks like someone with great skill but also someone who might be blown over by a strong gust of wind. Perhaps a stint in Spain would assimilate him better into European football. At Tottenham he may struggle to get into the first team purely because he is young and his body may not be sufficiently developed for the rigours of English football.
Let’s take a look at him again in action and Tottenham fans, you tell us whether he is worth taking a punt on.
