Tottenham linked with two more major signings

It’s difficult to assess whether Tottenham are having a good season or not

It’s difficult to assess whether Tottenham are having a good season or not. If you look at it purely in terms of results you have to say that things are looking promising.

But the manner of the performances has left many a Tottenham feeling a little flat. While Gareth Bale begins to dazzle in La Liga the Tottenham imports are yet to fire.

Christian Eriksen currently looks like the pick of the summer transfers to Tottenham and there is now real depth to the squad. But you would imagine that AVB will look to strengthen again in the winter in order to sustain a serious challenge for domestic and European honours.

Two players have been linked to Spurs in the latest news cycle. The Guardian says that the Tottenham boss wants Fabio Coentrao of Real Madrid. The left back nearly signed for Manchester United on loan at the end of the summer transfer window but the deal collapsed.

He may not have lit up Real Madrid with his performances this season but he remains a thoroughly good full-back who knows how to defend and also loves to get forward. Have a look at him in action.

The same news outlet links Tottenham with a move for Brazilian kid Neilton. The Guardian says:

‘….if a new left-back doesn’t make Spurs’ plot less predictable, then perhaps Neílton will – the Brazilian forward has yet to sign a new contract at Santos and is being eyed up by AVB.’

The 19-year-old has only played 11 times at senior level for his current club Santos but has already drawn great interest from abroad. It’s always a gamble buying a South American player this young who hasn’t got any experience in The Premier League. This fact alone may preclude any transfer in reality.

But let’s have a look at the little star in action anyway. Tottenham fans would this be a good signing for you or would Neilton struggle to settle in England?
