Chelsea close in on another striker – report

Ok, it’s not always gospel truth when it comes from The Daily Star but we have put it in the ‘just about newsworthy on a slow day’ category.

The cheeky tabloid today reports that a deal for 25 year old Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas is in the offing after an £8.5 million bid was made by Chelsea last night.

After signing Demba Ba last week, we do think that a megadeal for Radamel Falcao is now unlikely, so Chelsea may well turn their attentions to the mid range market in order to add numbers up front in the short term.

Aspas was the main man in Celta’s promotion last season, scoring 23 goals along the way. This season the Spaniard has 8 in 18 for club. He’s only 5ft9in but is quick and technically adept. With Chelsea looking blinding one week and abysmal the next it would be no surprise to anyone if The Blues were busy in this transfer window.

no need of looking for big names to bring to stamford bridge by doing so it means we do not have a manager thus resulting into the misusing of money if we get lago and already we have cise and torres(FLOP)whom we can use as asub on big games i do not see anything difficult to us.

I personally do not support spending lots of money on expensive strikers, rather spend on good wingers and mid-fielders any average striker with right service will be enuogh to win cups. Torres case is a big lesseon for those who reason.

Its better than spending on big name flops-Look @ Shevshenko,Torres etc.So lets get Williams from Shakhter or Maroune Fellaini and Wilfred Bony.Iago Aspas is gud.Lampard can live but Ashley Cole should be retained except we can get Baines from Everton.

The 50million spent on torres could have bought 6 good strikers like Ba.Torres plays better as a supporting striker.

If chelsea scouts claim he is good i accept it cos our scouts are great. They should get him as fast as they can so he blend with the team. Torres should be sold off cos every coach we employ will still think he can revamp him thus, wasting our time and making us to loose unnecessary matches. Lukaku should be encourage to stay cos he is still young and have the physics required to succeed in EPL. Pls and pls sell torres off even if it is to Africa. He has caused a lot damages to us! Chelsea 4 lkife.

I think what chelsea needs now is not actually getting new strikers but to start planning on building there team to bring out the massive potentials of Lukaku. I have watched him play and that guy is a very massive talent and would be a world class striker in the near future even better than Drogba.

I agree with most views on here, we don’t necessary need to splash the cash on big reputation’s and primma donna’s as patently obvious with the Torres deal!!! He’s a decent enough striker has a bit of pace and with an eye for goal. Anyroad, must go as I have a early date with “Dawn Patrol”…
