He’s one of the form strikers in Europe and, until now, it was thought that Chelsea were leading the chase to sign Colombian striker Radamel Falcao. The striker shortlist at Chelsea was shortened further by the departure of Hulk to Zenit this summer and, with Edinson Cavani looking very expensive, Falcao seemed like the main target for Chelsea in in the next window.
But a representative of the forward has told MaisFutebol that Arsenal and Tottenham are also in the race for Falcao, who bagged 17 goals in the Europa league alone last season.
‘England are crazy about Falcao,’ …..’Among the leading candidates are Arsenal and Tottenham. They are willing to hit the 30 million clause.’
‘The figure is not an extraordinary value for them.’
£30m Euros equates to around £26m and although this would break all transfer records at Arsenal, the idea of Falcao going to The Emirates is not an incredible one. The Gunners have just posted excellent figures for the year and, despite the traditional prudence of Arsene Wenger in transfer dealings, he would surely be interested if a really top player were to become avaialble at that price.
Arsenal currently have a solid front line with Gervinho, Podolski and Giroud all starting to find their feet. But the signing of Falcao would surely make Arsenal into an altogether more dangerous animal.

With his buy out clause being only 26m which imo is not correct the likes of Man City Chelsea and the big two in Spain being able to offer him incredible wages I can’t see Arsenal pulling this one off. The risk of him not adapting to the PL would also have to factored in to the Arsenal thinking. No chance.

I would rather spend that money on Demba Ba & Jonas Gutierrez. Both will come cheaper than 26m.
