AVB has kept his cards fairly close to his chest regarding new arrivals this summer. Tottenham have started the season with Jermaine Defoe as the only established striker in the squad, but Emmanuel Adebayor has finally put pen to paper on a permanent deal, which will somewhat appease the fans.
Today rumours are rife that Tottenham are about to do an eye-catching double deal for two Brazilian stars.
The Daily Mail, for one, reckons that Shaktar Donetsk playmaker Willian is close to a move to Tottenham. The 24 year old, who drew interest from Chelsea a few months, back is seen by AVB as the ideal replacement for the departing Luka Modric and any deal is likely to cost in the region of £20m.
The second part of the exciting double is the deadly Damiao. The Internacional striker, who lit up the Olympics with 6 goals to make him top scorer, has been linked with Tottenham all summer. A deal is apparently closer now and one feels that this guy would improve any team in The Premier League.
There isn’t long left in the window now so Tottenham fans will be put out of their misery, one way or another, soon. Watch this space for further developments.

Fantastic I’m sure we’d win every game if we played those TWELVE! Although the other teams might object and Citeh might want to field a team of 26 superstars.

I think if we can get away with putting 12 players on the pitch, forget about the Champions League – we’ll be challenging for the title

Forget any ideas of Damiao playing for Tottenham, it will NOT happen. This article is well lazy anyway. “Tottenham close in on Dazzling Double Deal”, yeah right. One ill informed “sports journo” writes a pile of plop about a rumour and others, like this, change the title slightly and publish it too. A deal is closer? f’ck off is it. It will NEVER happen. If he’s sold there’s a queue and with other teams offering CL football and higher wages, Spurs are not in the running. So all you super coaches who are listing your preffered starting “12” can forget it, stick to playing Championship Mong or Football Twunt 2012. We need to be going after realistic targets, players who don’t want the earth in wages or expect to be a CL starter from the word go in their career. I love it when a team buys a forward for peanuts, who scores shed loads of goals and then the rest of the league are saying “where, who, how”. The only problem with that is, all the fans start moaning that we haven’t bought a marquee player so we must lack ambition. You don’t have ambition unless you spend 20+ million? Feck off the lot of you!!!!!!!

Hold on. There’s a queue for damiao yes, but we have a link with his club and most likely a first option to buy their players. And tottenham are a team showing strong ambition and are still fighting for a champions league place. Fortunately there are still players out there he are willing to play football and earn there champions league spot than join a team already in it and sit on the bench. There is no reason why we wouldn’t get him. COYS

Pat nevin, great coment it did make me laugh.
I would like Ruiz of Fulham and dembelle.
Also ben arfa is much better than lennon so do a swap deal. Im happy with defoe and ade. And also gio to be given a fair go.
When modric goes would like the above players and may demba aswell. Rather than spend loads on an unproven prem player
