AVB continues to practice defiance in the face of mounting criticism following the worst run of results in years at Chelsea. For a club who has come to expect a win every week, the situation is currently hard to fathom. How have Chelsea got this bad?

Well, some of the responsibility surely has to lie with AVB. The Chelsea fans that I speak to think that he’s too young and inexperienced for this position. I don’t think many would argue with that notion right now – except, of course, the man himself.

The Chelsea manager has seemingly lost the dressing room and, so far, he’s had no response from Roman Abramovich after AVB asked for public support from the owner of Chelsea. So far it hasn’t come and the silence has been deafening.

I think most agree that AVB’s days at Chelsea are now numbered. So Chelsea fans, given the choice, would you rather take Guus Hiddink now or Jose Mourinho in the summer?

There has been much speculation of late that Hiddink’s current club FC Anzhi Makhachkala are about to make a managerial change and, under the right tutelage, this could still be a good season for Chelsea. If Hiddink took over at Chelsea now, he might still be able to salvage some pride in the Champions League and the FA Cup. But you just can’t see it happening while the incumbent is in charge of a squad that has seemingly lost respect for him.

Jose Mourinho will be at Real Madrid until the summer, at least, but would you Chelsea fans be happy to potentially write off this season if you knew you would be reunited with The Special One at the end of this current campaign?
