Tottenham have won battle to sign midfield sensation – report
We love how player tags are becoming ever more exotic and wonderful. Chelsea signing Mohammed Salah, for example, was dubbed The Egyptian Messi. Our own favourite is ex – Manchester United player Anderson, known in some pubs as The Brazilian Terry Gibson.
Coming soon, The Japanese Yaya Toure and The Ethiopian John Terry.
It is being reported today that Tottenham have signed The Nigerian Iniesta. The club have reportedly beaten off the opposition – although money would surely have sufficed – to sign the 16 year old whizz kid on a five year deal. The Metro says of the move:
Tottenham have seen off competition from Barcelona to land Nigerian wonderkid Musa Yahaya – dubbed the new Andres Iniesta.
Spanish giants Barca were in talks with Yahaya’s agent last week, but Spurs have since moved in and agreed a deal to bring him to White Hart Lane.
What do we know about the young maestro? Well, actually very little, except that he played in a junior World Cup for the Under 17 Nigeria side and scored 4 goals in just two games.
Arsenal and Manchester City have both been linked with the lad but it looks as if Tottenham may have stolen a march on their rivals. According to the report the player is having a medical this weekend.
He’ll probably be running tings for Tottenham….in a few years anyway….
