€37m move: Manchester United prepare to break the bank for World Class dynamo – report
Manchester United have done some super business over the last week and many believe that Louis van Gaal will now concentrate on purchasing a midfield general – someone who can restore the sort of superiority enjoyed when Roy Keane was running tings at Manchester United.
There have been few better contenders for the role, since the great man departed, than Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal.
He’s further embellished his already great reputation by giving some swashbuckling performances at The World Cup, despite only recently recovering form injury.
Chile took Brazil all the way on Saturday thanks in no small part to the industry and class of Vidal. The 27 year old has everything. He likes to take games by the scruff of the neck, helping out his defence, winning tackles, spraying balls forward and chipping in with goals (he has been prolific at Juventus).
The Metro reckons that Manchester United are prepared to offer the player mega money to join the club this summer.
Manchester United will offer Arturo Vidal a whopping £230,000-a-week to move to Old Trafford this summer.
The Chilean midfielder is now Louis van Gaal’s number one transfer target after he secured the signings of Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw in the last few days.
United are yet to agree a fee Vidal but MEN says a £30million (37m Euro) offer is expected to go in next week, as Van Gaal looks to push ahead with the transfer.
Other reports today suggest that Manchester United will pursue Nigel De Jong if they can’t get Vidal. While De Jong is also a good player you can’t help but feel that he would be an underwhelming signing compared to Vidal. Manchester United fans will hope that LvG pulls out all the stops to get this genius.
Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans: Number one target?
