Manchester United: ‘Target’ keen on England return

Manchester United’s midfield will be the subject of more intense scrutiny over the summer as it will surely be the major focus of David Moyes’s summer spend.

Although there are some portents that Marouane Fellaini is finally starting to come to the party for Manchester United, after a very sluggish start to his Old Trafford career, much more work is needed on a midfield that relies almost entirely on 32 year old Micheal Carrick for creativity and composure.

We all know about the 5 or 6 big names that continue to be bandied around with relation to Manchester United – names like Gundogan, Reus and Kroos will continue to grab the headlines.

But one player who has also been linked to Manchester United has discussed the possibility of a return to The Premier League. Barcelona midfielder Alex Song says he would be up for a return to England one day, according to Portuguese daily A Bola.

‘I will return to England, that’s for sure. If you leave Barcelona one day, is to return to the Premier League, “said the player.

Song has been linked with a move to Manchester United and hasn’t had the playing time that he would have hoped for in Spain since he moved a couple of seasons ago.

The mobile midfielder, 26, has played 32 times in the league for the Catalans, scoring once.

Although he may not immediately come to mind as the sort of swashbuckling midfielder that many Manchester United fans want, he may prove to be a crucial cog in the machine.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Manchester United fans – would Song hit the right notes at Old Trafford?
