Fixture: CHELSEA v Sunderland, The Barclays Premier League, Stamford Bridge
Date: Saturday 19th December 2015, Kick Off 15:00 GMT
Injured: Radamel Falcao
Doubtful: Eden Hazard
Foreword: Chelsea’s results in the league have been disastrous. But if Jose can’t rouse his troops to find the quality and passion to beat Sunderland at home then something has to be seriously wrong in that dressing room.
Sunderland are 19th in the league with a goal difference of -13 and the solitary win in 8 attempts away from home this season.
But something is just not right at Chelsea and it feels as if we are either reaching the turning point of the season or the point of no return for Jose.
To add to his woes, his danger man and chief creator, Eden Hazard, came off injured against Leicester. Jose had this to say about the incident:
“He made the decision to come off, so it must be a serious injury,”
“His first reaction was ‘I can’t continue’, his second reaction was ‘I want to try’, but after his first step back on the pitch he said he couldn’t. He’s injured clearly.”
This is surely the most unpredictable league campaign in the history of The Premier League so prediction may be foolish, but you would expect Chelsea to come away with the points in this one.
Prediction: 2-0
Team: Here’s our best XI with Eden Hazard looking unlikely to feature at this point, Ivanovic moved into the middle and Kenedy bring dynamism to the attack.
