Daniel Levy is refusing to negotiate a deal for the versatile 23-year-old and as United have dealt with him in the past when they signed Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov, they know how difficult he can be to crack.
Nainggolan would be a more than capable alternative, but with Roma having already sold Mohamed Salah to Liverpool, they won’t want to lose another key midfielder.
