Arsenal are bracing themselves to lose both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this summer, but they are set to make one final contract offer to convince them to stay.
The Mirror report that the duo will be offered a combined salary of £30million, with Sanchez earning £275,000 a week and Ozil £280,000.
Gunners players at least now know who will be in charge next season, with Arsene Wenger’s two-year contract set to be officially announced later today.
Wenger wants to capitalise on the weekend’s FA Cup win while it is still fresh in the players’ minds, but the reality is it might not be enough.
Arsenal have failed to qualify for the Champions League, and both Sanchez and Ozil know they should be playing at the highest level in the peaks of their careers.
Ozil’s representatives are also pushing for £350,000 a week, despite the fact that there is significantly less interest from elsewhere in the playmaker.
Should neither player commit, Arsenal will have to decide whether to cash in or whether to allow them to run down the final year of their contracts.
