Olivier Giroud hints at Arsenal exit

Arsenal are making moves to sign at least one world-class striker this summer.

With Alexis Sanchez widely expected to depart, the Gunners could be left dangerously short in attack if they do not sign reinforcements.

Danny Welbeck’s injury problems mean he cannot be relied upon and it doesn’t appear that Arsene Wenger is entirely convinced by Olivier Giroud, despite the latter’s 16 goals this season.

The Frenchman has been quoted in The Times speaking about his lack of minutes on the pitch, with Wenger affording him just 11 Premier League starts in the most recent campaign.

Giroud has hinted that he may be forced to quit the Emirates if the situation doesn’t improve, the 30-year-old admitting:

“I’ll talk to the coach. I had limited playing time but, at some point, there are things I will not be satisfied with.”

It’s reported that Arsenal have been actively pursuing Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, though they face competition from a number of other top clubs and it looks as if the 18-year-old could now stay with the Ligue 1 champions.

However, Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette is on the hunt for a new club, and he is another option being looked at.
