Man Utd target would prefer London switch

Manchester United continue to monitor Torino’s Andrea Belotti as they look to add a new striker to their ranks.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic may well have left Old Trafford this summer regardless of his knee injury, so Jose Mourinho has already drawn up a list of targets.

Belotti has scored 25 goals this season, though his £85million release clause remains a potential obstacle to his ambitions of moving on.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old wants to play Champions League football and the Italian outfit have accepted it is almost inevitable he will leave.

The same newspaper claim, however, that the forward would prefer to move to London, opening the door for a switch to Chelsea.

Antonio Conte has also been keeping one eye on his compatriot’s progress. The Blues have the advantage that they are definitely able to offer a place in the Champions League, whereas United are still waiting to either break into the top four or win the Europa League.

Yet, it could well be United who make the first move as they prepare a £64million bid.
