Antonio Conte reveals what he thinks of Tottenham’s title chances

Antonio Conte could only watch on as his Chelsea side were picked apart by Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.

The Blues’ unbeaten run is over, but there’s no need for them to panic just yet, as they still sit five points clear of nearest chasers Liverpool.

Despite suffering disappointment in the 2-0 loss at White Hart Lane, Conte’s men are still the overwhelming favourites to lift the trophy in May.

It’s certainly going to be one of the most hotly-contested title races in years, with all of the top six still in with a chance – and Conte insists Tottenham should now be taken seriously as genuine contenders.

“It’s a pity to stop this run but Tottenham are a really strong team and one of the teams that can fight for the title until the end,” he told Sky Sports.

“They fought last season and for sure can fight this year.”

Dele Alli is undoubtedly the Lilywhites’ man of the moment after he scored his third brace in as many games.

Chelsea, meanwhile, wasted several of their best opportunities, Diego Costa firing over on more than one occasion and Eden Hazard putting a free header at the back post wide.

Conte’s concern will be that this result doesn’t knock the stuffing out of Chelsea, as they are still in an enviable position – but Spurs have shown that the Blues can be beaten with the right approach.
