FA ask Bacary Sagna to explain controversial Instagram post

Beating Burnley 2-1 seems to have taken its toll on Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s erratic behaviour continued in his post-match interview, the Etihad boss evidently displeased with Fernandinho’s sending off.

That this was the Brazilian’s third dismissal in his last six matches possibly says more about his lack of discipline than anything else, but it was a decision which irked the City dressing room.

As reported by the BBC, Bacary Sagna has been asked to explain a post made to his Instagram account after the game.

On the face of it, there appears to be nothing wrong with the Frenchman’s post. As you can tell by the comments, however, this is the edited version.

The original included the phrase ’10 vs 12′, which appears to be a reference to the referee’s decision-making. Of course, that’s the obvious explanation, but there may be another, hence why Sagna has until 5pm on Friday to explain himself.

Further criticism is the last thing Lee Mason needs after his controversial decision to disallow Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goal against Middlesbrough. Colleague Mike Dean is also under the spotlight having sent off Sofiane Feghouli for a light challenge on Phil Jones during West Ham vs Manchester United.
