Marco Verratti is a transfer target for Chelsea, reports the Mirror.
The Paris Saint-Germain star has made no secret of his frustration at the Parc des Princes, with his agent suggesting he may seek pastures new at the end of the season.
He is growing increasingly concerned that the Ligue 1 champions will end the campaign without silverware, Nice surging into a shock lead. Chelsea have no chance of winning any European competitions as they’re not even in them, but they are at least among the favourites for the Premier League.
Manchester United also want Verratti, but he’s likely to get a lot more game time at Stamford Bridge as the Red Devils have so many options already.
Roman Abramovich has already told Antonio Conte he’ll have money to spend in January and the summer, as he still thinks his side are not quite the finished article.
And Verratti’s arrival could well spell the end for Cesc Fabregas, who is likely to move on after just one league start so far this season.
