Arsenal’s title bid has traditionally started to derail at this time of year, and an injury to their star man is the last thing they need.
The attacking midfielder has already scored eight goals this season, form which is likely to see him rewarded with a new deal.
The club need to show ambition if they are to keep hold of both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, but they need them at their best if they are to sustain their title hopes.
Wenger’s side currently sit just two points behind the top spot.
