Manchester City could be facing serious competition from Chelsea if they want to sign Leonardo Bonucci.
Pep Guardiola is keen to shore up his defence with the addition of the Juventus star, but unfortunately, he has that in common with Antonio Conte.
The two managers could therefore be facing a battle to make the Italian the most expensive defender in history.
City were planning to offer Juve around £60million, but the Sun have it that Chelsea are interested in a player plus cash deal.
The player in question is Cesc Fabregas, who is failing to make an impact under Conte after being ousted from the starting line-up by N’Golo Kante.
Juve could do with a little strengthening in their midfield after letting Paul Pogba leave for Manchester United in the summer, even if Fabregas isn’t a direct replacement.
The Old Lady’s manager, Massimiliano Allegri, reportedly believes he can get another five years out of Fabregas, despite him already being 29.
His only start this season didn’t go too well, with Chelsea falling victim to a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal.
Bonucci could certainly play a much bigger role at Chelsea than Fabregas is currently doing, so this could be the perfect swap.
