Spurs duo recognised for unbeaten start to the season

Things couldn’t be going any better for Spurs.

A 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday saw them extend their unbeaten start to the Premier League season to seven games, leaving them just one point off the top spot going into the international break.

How Spurs fared this campaign after last season’s title challenge was always going to be one of the big questions. Few will have expected them to start as well as they have, and even fewer would have thought Heung Min-Son would be leading the charge.

The South Korean has stepped up to the plate in Harry Kane’s absence, scoring five goals in his last six games and coming close to finding the back of the net again in the City game.

The attacker has now been recognised for his efforts, as he is nominated for EA Sports Player of the Month and the Carling Goal of the Month, as reported by Spurs’ official website.

And Mauricio Pochettino could join him in a potentially award-winning month, as he is one of five coaches up for Manager of the Month.

It’s about time Spurs got some recognition for how they’ve been playing, but they’d no doubt much rather be rewarded with some silverware come May.
