Jose Mourinho will have a welcome selection headache when Manchester United welcome Stoke to Old Trafford this weekend.
The Special One told his pre-match press conference that he expects to have his squad at almost full strength, the only notable absentee being Phil Jones, who hasn’t featured this season after suffering another injury setback.
The only potential worries were Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, both of whom missed Thursday’s 1-0 Europa League win over Zorya Luhansk.
Shaw was expected to train on Friday, however, as he was only ruled out through sickness, while Mkhitaryan also seemed ready to return.
“Phil Jones is the only one that I can say is an important injury and will be out for more weeks to come,” Mourinho said.
“Mkhi is training now with the team, Luke is ill so hopefully on Friday he trains with the team too, so we are fine in terms of our condition.”
United are overwhelming favourites to beat Stoke, who are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season. If Mourinho thinks he has been under pressure, he will have sympathy with his Potters counterpart Mark Hughes, who could be just a game or two away from the axe.
