Danny Rose is a major doubt for Tottenham’s trip to Stoke this weekend after playing on with a hamstring injury for England, reports the Telegraph.
For the Three Lions, it was just as well he did, as the left-back surged through Slovakia’s defence to set up Adam Lallana’s 95th-minute winner, but Spurs could be left to rue his decision.
To be fair, the player himself had little choice, as England didn’t have another player in his position on the bench after Luke Shaw withdrew from the squad earlier in the week.
If Rose has in fact strained his hamstring, it’s not just the Stoke game he could miss. The defender could be out for up to three weeks, so that would rule him out of their first Champions League game of the season against Monaco at Wembley, home games against Sunderland and Gillingham, and the trip to Middlesbrough.
Ben Davies has proven himself a capable replacement in the past, but Mauricio Pochettino would ideally like his side to be at full strength after an underwhelming start to the season.
