Manchester City

Two City stars could make their debuts against United

Good Again : Ilkay is back to his best after back injury

For all the money Manchester City spent in the transfer window, fans are still waiting to see two of the club’s new assets.

Unsurprisingly, former Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola was quick to dip into the Bundesliga this summer, bringing Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane to the Etihad.

While both were astute signings, neither have actually played a minute of football since arriving in the north-west.

That could be about to change, reports the Sun, with both having trained with the club over the international break.

And conveniently, that means they could make their debuts this Saturday – against none other than Manchester United.

Sane will be invaluable in attack in the absence of Sergio Aguero, who will be starting his three-game ban for violent conduct after elbowing Winston Reid in the West Ham game.

And Gundogan, a box-to-box midfielder could find himself pitted against Paul Pogba in the ultimate battle of summer signings.

The Premier League season might still be in its infant stage, but there is still a huge amount riding on the derby between two of the title favourites – and even if City are missing Aguero and, as usual, skipper Vincent Kompany, Gundogan and Sane could ensure they’re at their best regardless.
