Paul Scholes gives hilarious verdict on Manchester United

Paul Scholes has never been one to sit on the fence when it comes to his opinions on post-Fergie Manchester United.

The former Red Devils midfielder quit the game in 2013 on the same day that his manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, retired and has been a vocal critic of the club during the David Moyes and Louis van Gaal eras.

In recent days, plenty of quotes have been coming out of Scholes’ book Class of 92: Out of our League about his damning verdict of the Premier League.

And now, he has extended that to criticising United themselves, claiming he prefers watching the club he part-owns, non-league Salford City.

“I probably do enjoy watching Salford more,” he said, as quoted by the Mirror.

“But I genuinely get more enjoyment from watching even my son’s team, Royter Town.”

Jose Mourinho has been tasked with getting United back playing exciting football, and while it’s still so early on in his reign, they do seem to be utilising possession much more effectively than under Van Gaal.

United will be hoping to continue their 100% start to the season against rivals City this Saturday and if they play like they have in their first three games, Scholes might want to start watching again.
