Christian Eriksen signs new deal with Spurs – here’s what he’ll be earning

Just when it seemed like it would never end, Christian Eriksen’s contract saga is finally over.

The Denmark international has signed a four-year deal to stay at White Hart Lane, as per the London Evening Standard, after negotiations which have lasted exactly 12 months.

The 24-year-old hasn’t looked entirely settled in the opening three games of the Premier League season and was particularly distracted in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

This should finally refocus his energy on turning Spurs back into title contenders, however, with manager Mauricio Pochettino having personally intervened to get the midfielder to put pen to paper.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly alerted by Eriksen’s delay over the deal, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has given the go-ahead for a pay rise to ensure he remained in North London.

Eriksen will earn around £75,000 a week, which makes him one of the club’s highest earners. Under his former deal, he took home approximately half that figure.

Erik Lamela is most likely to be next in line when it comes to new contracts, though first and foremost, Spurs must focus on maintaining their unbeaten start to the season against Stoke this weekend.
