Serge Gnabry is to be sent on loan this season, but that doesn’t signal the end of his Arsenal career.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who have it that Arsene Wenger still sees the German as part of his future plans.
The winger has been attracting plenty of attention after starring for his country at the Olympic Games, so Wenger wants him to commit his future to the club with a contract extension.
In the short term, Hertha Berlin is his most likely destination, as they wait to hear if their proposal for a loan deal has been accepted.
The 21-year-old will hopefully benefit from some clarity over his future, which has been up in the air after spending part of last season at West Brom, where he wasn’t utilised properly either, making just three appearances.
Gnabry is clearly a player Wenger rates, even if he has only made 18 first team appearances in the five years he has been at the Emirates, so if the Arsenal boss is right, he could be one to watch.
