Leicester City might be Premier League champions, but they still have a lot to prove at the top table.
Despite the Foxes’ shock title win last season, Chelsea and Manchester United are desperately attempting to put them back in their place by dominating the transfer market.
Chelsea, in particular, may have already taken N’Golo Kante from them, but they could be beaten to one of their prime targets by old boss Claudio Ranieri.
The Daily Mail report that both United and Chelsea have spoken with Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa about a possible move to England, but the Leicester Mercury have it that Ranieri has already launched a £23million bid.
The 19-year-old is often dubbed the next Neymar, though that’s partly just because he plays for Santos, the Barca star’s former stomping ground.
Leicester recently broke their transfer record to bring in Ahmed Musa, who looks similarly promising, but the affectionately-named ‘Gabigol’ would be worth smashing it again for.
