Arsenal will allow Mathieu Debuchy to join Galatasaray on loan despite their ongoing defensive crisis.
That’s according to the Daily Star, who report that Arsene Wenger will allow the Frenchman to leave after deciding he will not be able to displace Hector Bellerin as their first-choice right-back.
While it seems like a strange decision considering Wenger’s defensive worries, his problems lie more in the centre of their defence.
And it’s fair to say Debuchy’s departure shouldn’t make too much difference, considering he was on loan at Bordeaux for the second half of last season anyway.
The Star are taking their story from Turkish journalist Gokmen Ozdemir, who claims an agreement is already in place between Arsenal and Galatasaray, though personal terms still need to be agreed with the player.
Debuchy has made just 22 appearances for the Gunners, but Wenger must hope Bellerin doesn’t get injured, or he could find himself very short once again at the back.
