Inter Milan are considering a surprise move for unwanted Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, reports TuttoSport.
The Italy international is set to move back home after being told to find a new club by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, but it is surprising that it is Inter who are considering a bid.
The maverick forward spent last season on loan at rivals AC Milan, scoring just once and proving exactly why Liverpool are so keen to shift him.
Perhaps it is that, under new Chinese ownership, the Nerazzurri can afford to take a chance on Balotelli, as there is still a school of thought that under the right management, he can develop into a world-class player.
However, he will be working with a familiar face if the move does go ahead, as Inter are currently managed by Roberto Mancini, his former boss at Manchester City – and a man with whom he famously got in a training ground bust-up.
Mancini can only hope that the player himself has matured and is determined to put the last two years, which frankly he has completely wasted, behind him.
