Tottenham could be lining up a bid for Barcelona midfielder Cristiano Tello, according to the Mirror.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add even more pace to his attack after capturing Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar earlier this week.
Barca fans won’t have seen much of Tello over the last two seasons, as the player has been sent on loan to Porto and Fiorentina.
That suggests he doesn’t have much of a future at the Nou Camp, but that shouldn’t deter Tottenham too much as even the most talented midfielders would find it difficult to break into Barca’s first team.
Spurs could have to fight off Premier League duo Swansea and Southampton for his signature, but of course, neither of those can offer Tello Champions League football.
The 24-year-old scored twice and provided four assists for Fiorentina last season, but it’s his overall creativity that makes him such an attractive signing.
Tello can play on the left or the right, which also means he could ease some of the pressure on Christian Eriksen.
As Spurs look to add to their attacking options, however, it seems the end is nigh for Nacer Chadli’s time at White Hart Lane, with the Belgian being linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.
