Chelsea target Dimitri Payet has been valued at £100million by West Ham.
The Frenchman has been attracting plenty of attention with some impressive performances at Euro 2016 and that had led to rumours he could be on his way out of East London.
However, Hammers co-owner David Sullivan told the Daily Mirror:
“Payet is not for sale. Just because a big club wants him, tough luck. He is worth £100million. Even at his age.”
That suggests the 29-year-old is invaluable to West Ham, as it would take a world record bid to prise him away.
Payet has already been rewarded with a £125,000 a week deal, so any potential suitors would also probably have to improve on that too.
The player is yet to express a wish to leave West Ham, who can look forward to a rare Europa League campaign and a first season in their new Olympic Stadium in 2016/2017.
Boss Slaven Bilic has a knack for getting the best out of players, including Payet, who has risen to prominence fairly late in his career.
Moving to Chelsea, or Inter Milan, one of the other clubs interested, could jeopardise his form and at his age, that’s not a risk he will want to take.
