Manchester United chief executive vice-chairman has begun talking to Paul Pogba’s representatives over a potential move to Old Trafford, claim Sky Sports.
The Red Devils have been battling with Real Madrid for the French superstar, but it appears United have made the first move.
A fee is yet to be agreed with Juventus for the player, but it is believed it would take an offer of over £100million, which would be a world record, for them to allow Pogba to leave.
And it’s clear why the former United player, who left for Turin four years ago, would be tempted to re-join the club.
Woodward has reportedly sanctioned a wage packet of £300,000 a week, a deal that would make the 23-year-old one of the highest-paid players in world football.
The player himself is still away on international duty with France, but his agents are clearly working behind the scenes on his behalf until after he returns from Euro 2016.
