Liverpool accept bid for striker

If anyone needed any reminding of how crazy the transfer window is going, Bournemouth have just bid £15million for Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe.

Unsurprisingly, the Reds have accepted the money before the Cherries have time to change their minds.

It was always expected that the increase in TV revenues for Premier League clubs would cause prices to go up in the market, as now all 20 clubs in the top flight have plenty of cash at their disposal.

Perhaps the division’s dizzy heights are starting to have an effect on whoever is in charge of transfers at Bournemouth.

Ibe is full of promise, but the England under-21 international is being sold by Liverpool for a reason.

Having been at the club for five years, the former Wycombe Wanderers man has made just 58 senior appearances and looked out-of-sorts under Jurgen Klopp last season.

Bournemouth are right to be scouring the Premier League for additions to their squad as they aim to beat the drop again next season, but they need to be careful that they don’t gain a reputation for being willing to pay ridiculous money for fairly average players.
