Jurgen Klopp wants reunion with Dortmund midfielder

Blaszczykowski

Liverpool are interested in bringing Poland star Jakub Błaszczykowski to Anfield, according to German publication Bild.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is well-acquainted with the winger, having managed him at Borussia Dortmund.

And it’s expected that Błaszczykowski will leave BVB this summer after a difficult 18 months.

The 30-year-old was loaned out to Fiorentina last season and also lost the Poland captaincy in the last year, so Klopp may be ready to offer him a fresh start in the Premier League.

To top it all off, Błaszczykowski also missed one of the key penalties that saw Poland crash out of Euro 2016, though he scored two important goals in their run to the quarter-finals.

Klopp is just the man to restore his confidence, particularly as he can give him a crucial role at Liverpool.

The Reds badly need a new winger to add some width to their attack. Liverpool have been lacking pace up front since allowing Raheem Sterling to join Manchester City and selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

They have already signed Sadio Mane from Southampton this summer, so it’s clear Klopp is making their front line his priority.

Błaszczykowski would be an even better addition if Borussia Dortmund aren’t willing to give him another chance.
