Manchester United confident on Pogba

Manchester United are confident of pulling off a deal for Paul Pogba despite ongoing interest from Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho alluded to the fact in his first press conference as Red Devils manager, in which he told the assembled press:

“We decided four targets. From these four, we have three.”

And it appears he’s right to be feeling confident, as the Manchester Evening News are reporting that super-agent Mino Raiola, who is negotiating on Pogba’s behalf, will try and persuade the Frenchman to turn down La Liga in favour of a move to the Premier League with United.

Raiola has quite the track record of doing just that, as he has already brought Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the club this summer.

As United are willing to splash the necessary cash to get Pogba, the only thing that could scupper the move is if the player himself turned it down, as he has previously expressed a preference for Madrid, again as per the Manchester Evening News.

While it is Raiola who seems to be the real key figure in the transfer market at the moment, Pogba’s decision could hinge on a Partick Thistle player.

Yes, that’s correct, as Pogba’s brother Mathias plays for the Scottish side, and could be the deciding factor in convincing the superstar to move to the UK.

Of course, France’s main man has already played for United in the past but was let go because of a falling-out with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Now that Fergie is no longer in charge, it’s up to Mourinho to reunite him with the famous red jersey, and it seems he’s pretty confident of achieving that.
