Chelsea are anticipating a bid from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Belgium international has been back to his brilliant best at Euro 2016 and new Blues boss Antonio Conte will want to keep him at Stamford Bridge despite a disappointing campaign last time out.
Of course, Hazard wasn’t the only one in the squad to underperform last season, so it is hoped that he will be reinvigorated by Conte.
Madrid are plotting to offer Chelsea a deal effectively worth £75million, as they are considering a cash plus Alvaro Morata offer.
That works in Chelsea’s favour in that they are already keen on signing Spain striker Morata, who recently moved back to Real from Juventus and is now expected to be sold on for a profit.
However, Hazard would need to express a desire to leave if any deal were to go through, as it’s unlikely Chelsea will be hasty to let him go.
Although he struggled with injuries last season, he is expected to link up well with international team-mate and imminent Chelsea arrival Michy Batshuayi next year, so he will once again be a key part of the Blues’ attack.
