Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin could be on his way out of the club, with the Mirror reporting Everton are interested in his signature.
The Frenchman would certainly be an impressive first signing for new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman, even if he has been relatively unspectacular at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old is far from a surprise target, as Koeman worked with him in their time together at Southampton.
And while Jose Mourinho may not be able to fit him into his plans at United, Schneiderlin would be perfect for Everton.
The Merseyside club’s defence was woeful last season, a major factor in the demise of Koeman’s predecessor Roberto Martinez.
Adding Schneiderlin to the midfield would add an extra dimension of cover for the back four, while he can also create and is good in possession.
United want £20million for him and now that Everton have been taken over, they can finally afford that kind of money.
