As speculation continues over the future of Barcelona superstar Neymar, the Nou Camp side have already set about finding a replacement.
The Brazilian has been linked with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and even Barca’s bitter rivals Real Madrid.
If Barca were to let him leave, the Express have suggested that Juventus’ Paulo Dybala is being lined up as his successor.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Neymar will be offered a new contract by Barca, but they are considering replacements in case he turns it down in favour of a big money move elsewhere.
The 24-year-old’s contract talks have been ongoing for some time, and it is feared he may leave after feeling unappreciated this season, particularly in Barca’s bad patch around late March.
Dybala is a capable replacement, having scored 23 goals in his first season at Juve, but he is nowhere near the class of player that Neymar is.
He is arguably not even Juve’s star man, so Barca may want to consider whether they’re downgrading.
If United do continue to pursue Neymar, he could cost them upwards of £140million – but at least he’s one of the few players in the world who’s worth anywhere near that kind of figure.
