Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be a shock target for Manchester United, according to the Sun.
Ramsey has been hugely impressive for his country at Euro 2016, with Arsenal fans hoping he will carry that form into the new season and find some consistency.
However, if he does, it could be as a Manchester United player, with rumours suggesting new boss Jose Mourinho could launch a £50million bid for him if his other target, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, stays at Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund are being increasingly difficult over the deal, but if it’s an easy buy they want, United might have to think twice about Ramsey.
With Arsenal failing so far to make much of an impact on the transfer window – only yesterday Jamie Vardy turned them down and signed a new deal with Leicester – it’s vital that Arsene Wenger keeps hold of their best players.
It would be nothing short of extraordinary if in those circumstances, he allowed Ramsey to leave, particularly for a team managed by his bitter rival Mourinho.
What’s most noticeable, however, is that while Arsenal are relatively stagnant, United are making all the right moves in the window – and it could have a massive effect on the coming season.
