Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are the three clubs who could meet Neymar’s release clause, according to the Express.
The Brazilian had an unhappy year at Barcelona and was the target of heavy criticism during their dip in form earlier this year, though of course, the La Liga giants did go on to win the title.
United have often been linked with the superstar, but the paper reports that Neymar’s agent named them as one of the three who are considering buying him out of his contract.
The difficulty is that that release clause, which would allow him to speak freely to other clubs if met, is £157million.
Jose Mourinho is being given money to spend, but if chief executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward were to hand him that sort of cash to spend, it’s unlikely he would be able to bring in many other players.
Neymar is one of the few players worth that kind of money, but it still wouldn’t be wholly surprising if he were to end up staying at Barca, as even the top clubs must be gawking at his price tag.
