Alvaro Morata is reportedly asking Chelsea to pay him £110,000 a week if he joins the club.
The Juventus hitman has been long linked with a move to the Premier League and the London Evening Standard report that his wages would almost be trebled if he moves to Stamford Bridge.
At Juve, he is believed to be on around £40,000 a week, but after another impressive season for the Old Lady, his representatives clearly feel he can command much more than that.
Morata played under incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at Juve, so it’s unsurprising that west London is his likely destination at present.
It’s also clear why he’s holding out for such a lucrative deal after scoring a brace for Spain in Friday’s 3-0 win over Turkey at Euro 2016.
Chelsea are one of the only Premier League clubs who would realistically be able to afford those wages, but as they try and revamp their squad this summer, there is always the danger that they could be held to ransom.
