Tottenham still chasing Croatian midfielder

TOTTENHAM are reportedly interested in Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj and his agent has admitted a move to the Premier League would be hard to turn down.

That’s according to the Express, who suggest Spurs would need to fork out in the region of £12million to secure the services of the 27-year-old Croatia international.

Agent Dejan Joksimovic told the paper: “The Premier League is always attractive, for all of the players in the world I think.

“Clubs playing in (the) Champions League have priority, if there are some (sic).”

Tottenham fill both criteria and Badelj already has plenty of experience playing in Europe’s elite club competition, having made 31 appearances in the Champions League for Dinamo Zagreb, before a two-year stint at Hamburg.

He’s continued to impress since moving to Fiorentina in 2014 but, despite having a contract with the Serie A outfit until 2018, Joksimovic doesn’t think Badelj will be there come the start of next season, adding:

“At the moment, I think it is hard to think of a future in purple for Milan.”

The midfielder has actually been on the radar of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino for some time now, with unconfirmed reports that the north London club actually made an approach in the January transfer window.

Joksimovic claims there are a number of quality European clubs interested in his client and that list of suitors could well increase – along with his price tag – if Badelj performs well at Euro 2016.
