Tottenham may be facing a battle to hold onto star midfielder Erik Lamela.
Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Lamela is the subject of interest from Inter Milan, though of course, that is not the first time such rumours have surfaced.
In fact, Spurs nearly sold Lamela last summer, but the deal was called off because Mauricio Pochettino could not find a replacement in time.
That worked in Spurs’ favour, as although he struggled to settle following his initial £30million move, he went on to be a revelation last season and was a driving force behind the Lilywhites’ title bid.
Spurs have no real reason to sell and while Lamela has played in Serie A previously with Roma, it’s unlikely he would want to join given that Inter have fallen from their previous heights.
Tottenham, in contrast, are on the up and given that it may take him a while to re-settle in Italy, he may want to think twice about leaving, as he has quickly earned hero status in north London.
