Leicester fans must be getting sick of the sight of Arsene Wenger.
The Arsenal boss has been linked with a double swoop for Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, with the former the most likely to sign as his £20million release clause has already been activated.
If that’s not enough, Wenger has now hinted he may also be interested in a move for the Foxes’ central midfield talisman N’golo Kante.
According to The Independent, Wenger described Kante as having “incredible quality” and admitting he “admires” him.
Like Vardy, Kante’s release clause is £20million, which shouldn’t be too big a problem for Wenger.
His strategy at present seems to simply buy up the Leicester team that won the Premier League last season, but it remains to be seen whether they can fit into his free-flowing style of play.
Kante, who is set to make a big impression with France at the Euros, would make Arsenal more of a unit, but signing a central midfielder shouldn’t be a priority.
That’s one area where the Gunners don’t need to improve, so Wenger must prioritise the Vardy deal because if that doesn’t come off, Arsenal could be left wanting yet again next season.
