Spurs are having to re-evaluate their transfer list after Marc Bartra snubbed the Premier League in favour of a move to Borussia Dortmund.
Barcelona let Bartra leave for a surprisingly low fee believed to be in the region of £9million, according to the Independent, which caught the attention of a host of Premier League clubs.
Spurs were the team most heavily linked with him, but it appears he favours staying on the continent.
However, although on paper, Dortmund may be bigger than Spurs right now – and beat them resoundingly in the Europa League last-16 last season – he might be making a mistake.
By all accounts, Spurs are on the up, while Dortmund are in for a tough season after losing captain Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich and Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City.
To make matters worse, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might also be joining Gundogan at the Etihad, so unless Dortmund make some monumental signings of their own, they could be in trouble.
