Philippe Coutinho must quit Liverpool, according to Barcelona star

Philippe Coutinho is under more pressure than ever to quit Liverpool and move to pastures new.

The Brazil playmaker has attracted interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, with the two clubs now set to battle it out for his signature.

Both can offer Champions League football, something he isn’t getting at Liverpool.

But Dani Alves, who himself is on his way out of Barca, has urged Coutinho to consider a move to the La Liga giants, as he insists his international team-mate is good enough to play for Luis Enrique’s side.

Sky Sports have quoted Alves as saying:

“Liverpool have history but you should consider playing for top UCL sides. He has the quality to play for Barcelona.”

His words might be a little more convincing if he was actually staying at Barcelona himself, but Coutinho will no doubt have to give any potential transfer to the Nou Camp some serious thought.

Liverpool have themselves been active in the transfer window thus far, but they have signed mainly young players, who may just be ones for the future.

If he is going to consider his career in the immediate future, Coutinho may want to consider swapping Anfield for the Nou Camp, just as Luis Suarez did two years ago.
