Alexandre Pato’s Chelsea future unclear

Chelsea’s 2015/2016 season was pretty perplexing all round.

One of the stranger elements though was the signing of Alexandre Pato in January.

The former AC Milan sensation was once tipped for great things on the European stage, but his career has come to something of a standstill, not least because of his stint at Stamford Bridge.

He was used just twice by interim boss Guus Hiddink, despite scoring on his debut against Aston Villa.

Now, he has no idea whether he is set to play more of a role under Antonio Conte.

Goal.com are reporting that Pato’s agent is yet to be informed whether Chelsea intend to keep him – as the club don’t even know themselves.

He is actually on loan from Corinthians, but his contract with the Brazilian side runs out in six months.

Somehow, Pato has clearly taken to playing in England, as he wants to move to another Premier League club, preferably a London one, if the Blues aren’t interested in retaining his services.

It’s difficult to see Arsenal or Spurs taking a punt on him, but whoever does may be rewarded.

Pato simply needs a manager who can get him to fulfil his potential and if he can find one, he has a good chance of proving Chelsea wrong.
