Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini has suggested that Real Madrid is not just about Ronaldo, as he claimed, there are danger men in the Real team.
The Portuguese international was ruled of the first leg tie draw due to an injury, which ended in a goalless, but has been declared fit for tonight’s game at the Barnabeu as they come against the blues of
Manchester for the final showdown of who qualifies to join Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions league final.
The three-time Ballon D’or winner solely qualified the Los Blancos to the semi finals of the competition as he scored a hat-trick against German side, Wolfsburg but Pellegrini plays down the former Manchester United forward’s exploits by saying there are danger men all over the pitch.
“Cristiano will always be a different player – he scores a lot of goals and has throughout his six years here,” Pellegrini told reporters.
“However, I don’t think Real are just Cristiano Ronaldo. We must work as a team defending and attacking. Not just against Ronaldo but against Real Madrid.
“Our motivation must be to reach a final which we’ve never done before against a great team in a beautiful stadium. It’s important tomorrow because it’s high pressure but we have the personality and the football to beat them.
“Everyone must trust in their team. We trust in ours and I hope we can demonstrate it in the 90 minutes. We are sure we will need to make a very good performance to reach the final – it would be the first time we’ve reached it.”
Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping to extend his record from being the first City manager to qualify the team to the semis of the Champions League to the final.
