Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has hit back at journalist who suggested that his era as the manager in the club ends this summer.
The Dutchman has been under intense pressure as the Red Devil struggle to make a Champions League spot next season.
To mount more pressure on the Dutch manager, Jose Mourinho, who worked he worked with as an assistant during his time in Barcelona, is reported to be in line to replace him this summer but Van Gaal insists he is one of the best managers in the world.
“When the media is writing for six months I am sacked already, I can cope with that. It is not new for me. For my players, it is not so easy,” he said at the club’s Player of the Season event.
“They are reading every day. What do you think about my authority? What do you think about the way they want to follow my advice, when their coach is showed like a nobody because I cannot do anything?
“But I am not like that. I am very arrogant. I am one of the best managers of the world.”
United are still four points adrift of rivals Manchester City, who currently occupy fourth spot.
